Dr. Xiong Wang’s research interest is mainly in applications based on the thermoacoustic effect, such as thermoacoustic imaging for breast cancer detection, thermoacoustic imaging based on compressive sensing, thermoacoustic communications from air to underwater, foreign body detection, microwave hyperthermia for breast cancer treatment. His research area also includes electromagnetic interaction with human and biological tissues and antenna design for wireless communications, etc.

王雄博士2009年在美国克莱姆森大学获得电子工程硕士学位，2014年在美国亚利桑那大学获得电子工程博士学位，之后在亚利桑那大学从事博士后研究工作。他在2013年获得国际电气电子工程师协会天线与传播分会的2012-2013年度博士研究奖。他于2015年6月作为助理教授、研究员加入上海科技大学信息科学与技术学院。他的研究兴趣包括：乳腺癌的热声成像检测，乳腺癌的微波热治疗，压缩感知，电磁波对人体和生物组织的影响，无线通信天线设计等。
