An improved phasor estimation method based on matrix pencil and weighted least square

摘要This paper proposes an improved phasor estimation method based on matrix pencil and weighted least square to enhance the estimation accuracy during transients such as faults. First, the frequency components contained in the fault signal are approximately estimated by matrix pencil method. Afterwards, the primary frequency components are determined to construct the fault signal model according to the magnitude of reference factor. Finally, the unknowns within the fault signal are solved utilizing the weighted least square algorithm to obtain the phasors. Numerical experiments validate that the proposed method presents higher accuracy of phasor estimation compared to the existing phasor estimation methods, even with measurement noises. Moreover, the proposed method requires only a portion of a cycle to accurately calculate fundamental frequency phasors, and works with a relatively low sampling rate of 4k samples/sec.
