An ultra-low-power wake-up receiver (WuRx) is presented in this work. The WuRx integrates a 30-bit physically-unclonable-function-based unique ID for independent specification. A programmable correlator based on Hamming distance comparison is proposed for systematic control of the miss-detection rate, RMD, and the false-alarm rate, RFA. Implemented in a 0.18μm CMOS process, the WuRx operates at 433 MHz and features a data rate of16.384 kbit/s based on on-off keying (OOK) modulation. Simulation results show a sensitivity of -5S.SdBm and a power consumption of 57.33 nW from a 1.6 V supply voltage while achieving both RMD and RFA of less than 0.1%. © 2022 IEEE.
