摘要 | This paper derives the systematic way to select phase-mode transformation matrices for 3 phase symmetrical power systems. First, the paper presents the basic conditions for transformation matrix, to ensure complete decoupling of three phases. Second, additional objectives for transformation matrices are introduced to simplify the design during protection/fault location applications, such as a fixed nonzero row of fault admittance matrix for all fault types, independence of a specific mode with respect to other modes during faults, and zero rows/columns of fault admittance matrix for specific fault types. Third, the conditions of transformation matrices to meet each objective are carefully derived, respectively, and the limitations of the existing widely adopted transformation matrices are summarized. Finally, a new transformation matrix is proposed to meet one example objective and to overcome the limitation of existing transformation matrices. An example application to the transmission line current differential protection show the advantages of the proposed transformation matrix: using one fixed mode, the current differential protection with the proposed transformation matrix can recognize internal faults regardless of fault types, which simplifies the design of current differential protection. |
